20 Cambodian Swimmers To Visit Japan Next Week

Twenty (20) Cambodian youths of the Khmer Swimming Federation are going to visit Japan from Sept. 24 to Oct. 2, 2018 at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan under the JENESYS (Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youth) 2018.

According to a press release from the Embassy of Japan in Cambodia, the participants will have swimming training with Japanese swimming athletes of the Tokai University Swimming Club and visit Tokushima Prefecture, which is registered as a host-town of Cambodia at the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2020.

In Tokushima Prefecture, it pointed out, they will also have swimming training with Japanese swimming athletes of Tokushima Prefectural Swimming Team and exchange with students of the Tokushima Commercial High School.

The JENESYS aims to promote mutual trust and understanding among the people of Japan and participating countries and to build a basis for future friendship and cooperation, said the press release, adding that through the programme, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan has invited more than 2,000 Cambodian youths since 2007.
