3rd Update Process of Cambodia Trade Integration Strategy 2019-2023 Begins

A consultative meeting with development partners (DPs) on the update process of Cambodia Trade Integration Strategy (CTIS) 2019-2023, the third of its kind, was held here recently at the Ministry of Commerce in the presence of Secretary of State for Commerce H.E. Ms. Tekreth Kamrang.

CTIS, said H.E. Ms. Tekreth Kamrang, is a key strategic document for trade sector development in Cambodia. The strategy has been systematically updated to monitor and track the progress made since the last update in order to formulate strategic actions and interventions to respond to remaining gaps and challenges in the trade sector.

According to the Ministry of Commerce, the current update is aimed to assist the government in mainstreaming trade and competitiveness in the country's overall development strategy, provide a diagnostic and analytical tool to prioritise and sequence key reforms in the area of trade and competitiveness, and offer a platform for DPs to coordinate and align technical assistance with government priorities.

During the meeting, while a number of DPs confirmed their interest in contributing technical assistance, some will collaborate strategically by aligning with their respective strategies or policy frameworks.
