A Shanghai Business Delegation Interested in Kampot’s Infrastructure Development

A Shanghai business delegation is exploring possibility to invest in major physical infrastructure in Kampot province, according to local media report.

The news was shared following the meeting granted by Kampot Provincial Governor H.E. Cheav Tay to the visiting Chinese delegates at his office on Tuesday afternoon.

The Chinese investors, added the source, are interested in development of seaport, airport and speed train connecting Kampot with Phnom Penh capital and Preah Sihanouk province.

As cited in the source, H.E. Cheav Tay emphasised that for the interest to become a reality much more work needs to be done, including the coordination with the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) as well as official approval by the government.

However, he continued, he welcomed any investment exploration in his province to bring its development to a new level.
