Cambodia, Bangladesh and Pakistan Promoting Garment and Textile Labour Conditions

Cambodia has jointly organised a seminar with Bangladesh and Pakistan to promote experience and information sharing in textile and garment sector, according to local media report.

Taking place here in Phnom Penh recently, the exercise was made possible through a project called Social and Labour Standards in the Textile and Garment Sector in Asia (SLSG) supported by German development agency GIZ.

The seminar allowed collective review of inspection checklist to ensure appropriate working conditions among workers in the mentioned industry, according to H.E Mam Vannak, Secretary of State for Labour and Vocational Training who represented Cambodian side in the exercise.

This is part of on-going three-year strategic cooperation between the Ministry of Labour and GIZ in implementing SLSG project.
