Cambodia Looking into Issue of Overcrowded Prisons

Cambodia is looking thoroughly into the issue of overcrowded prisons in order to live up the country's commitment to the human rights.

Secretary of State at the Ministry of Justice H.E. Chiv Song Hak shared the said intention with visiting United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Situation of Human Rights in Cambodia Ms. Rhona Smith yesterday.

He added that besides the issue, the Royal Government of Cambodia is working on judicial reform to promote fairness and transparency of the country's judicial power.

Ms. Rhona Smith thanked the secretary of state for the sharing and expressed her appreciation of the government's efforts.
