Cambodian, Thai PMs Hold Bilateral Talks

SamdechAkkaMohaSenaPadeiTecho Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, held a bilateral talk with his Thai counterpart H.E. Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha in Bangkok, Thailand this afternoon, on the sidelines of the 8th Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy Summit (8th ACMECS) and the 9th Cambodia-Lao PDR-Myanmar-Vietnam Summit (9th CLMV Summit).

According to his official Facebook page, SamdechTecho Hun Sen spoke highly of the increase in bilateral trade between the two countries from US$5.6 billion in 2016 to US$6.16 billion last year. He also called for closer cooperation so as to achieve the target of US$15 billion two-way trade volume by 2020.

The Cambodian Premier also asked the Thai side to speed up the draft MoU on cross-border goods, and to convince more Thai investors to invest in Cambodia.

SamdechTecho Hun Sen thanked Thailand for helping to provide the legal status to Cambodian migrant workers in Thailand and for donating a locomotive to Cambodia, and urged both sides to negotiate for an agreement between Cambodia and Thailand on techniques and procedures for cross-border railway transport and for the opening of O' Neang international border gate along with the opening of Stung Bot-international border gate.
