The Premier and his cabinet ministers were given a vote of confidence by the 125 newly-elected lawmakers at the first session of the sixth legislature of the National Assembly (NA) on Sept. 6.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen pledged yesterday to lead the country's executive body to achieve the Royal Government's political agenda in accordance with the promise made by his Cambodian People's Party to the people before the election.

In 2019, a special focus will be made on concrete interventions such as increase in garment workers' wage, in salary and retiring pension of all civil servants, retirees and veterans, reduction of electricity fees, implementation of some prioritised social protection schemes for pregnant women, under-two-year-old children, poor households and so on, he underlined.
