Commerce Minister: Boao Forum for Asia, Opportunity for Cambodia to Attract More Investors

Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) will provide a great opportunity for Cambodia to attract more Chinese investors and be a bridge of relations with other countries in the region in order to strengthen economic cooperation and solve challenges facing by the world.

The optimism was made by Cambodian Minister of Commerce H.E. Pan Sorasak while presiding over the opening ceremony of BFA-Phnom Penh Conference held under theme Together for Development and Win-Win: a Joint Endeavour to Bring China-Cambodia Trade and Economic Cooperation Into a New Era at Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra yesterday evening.

On the occasion, H.E. Pan Sorasak mentioned the common purpose of BFA and new initiative of Chinese President H.E. Xi Jinping who has requested to expand opened comprehensive cooperation among countries in Asia, which will become a new opportunity for Cambodia and other member countries.

H.E. Minister also called on representatives of Cambodian private sector and Chinese companies and enterprises as well as the BFA member states to grab this gathering opportunity to continue the culture of dialogue, share, strengthen and expand cooperation for the common interests in the region and the world.

Initiated in 1998, BFA is the most prestigious and premier forum for leaders from governments, business, and academia in Asia and other continents to share vision on the most pressing issues in this dynamic region and the world at large.

Amongst the 29 initial countries of BFA, Cambodia has enjoyed two decades of strong economic growth and been ranked as a fast-growing economy in Asia.
