Construction of Phnom Penh-Preah Sihanouk Expressway To Begin in November

Royal Government of Cambodia is planning to start the construction of Phnom Penh-Preah Sihanouk expressway by November 2018, according to local media report.

As quoted in the source, spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Works and Transport H.E. Vasim Sorya, shared that the total length of the expressway is over 190 kilometres.

Costing about US$1.8 billion, the construction of the superhighway will take about four years to complete, he added.

Based on its design, the route is separated from its sidewalks by fences and parts of it slope up and down like pass-over bridges.

Once completed, this expressway will play a crucial role in boosting Cambodia's economic growth, as well as in facilitating Cambodian people's travel and transportation, underlined the spokesperson.
