Free Screening of Cambodian, Chinese Movies Launched

Cambodia has launched the Chinese Movies Week and the 3rd Mobile Outstanding Chinese-Khmer Movies � an effort to enhance cultural understanding of the two nations.

The launch of the events co-chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Assembly-Senate Relations and Inspection H.E. Mrs. Men Sam An and Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Xiong Bo took place here in Phnom Penh on Tuesday.

Movie is a bridge to expand mutual understanding between people and people, and to promote cultural exchange, underlined H.E. Xiong Bo in his address during the launching ceremony.

In the past two years, he added, ten top Chinese movies were screened 24 times for about 40,000 Cambodians in 14 capital and provinces.

H.E. Mrs. Men Sam An expressed her support and appreciation of the initiative as well as positive feedback about it from different sources.

In addition to top Chinese movies, the events also included a wide range of Cambodian movies, particularly those with educational and peace building intention.
