Government Approved US$2 Billion Worth Construction Projects in First Semester

Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction approved 1,643 construction projects � worth about US$2.1 billion � in the first six months of 2018.

The ministry shared the update recently underlining that the licensed projects entail more than 5.3 million square metres of construction.

It added that they have created an average of about 180,000 daily jobs with monthly salary package from US$400 up to 2,500 per person.

Of the projects, 21 equivalent to around US$394 million are foreign investments from eight countries constructing some 928,000 square metres.

Construction industry in Cambodia is creating between 250,000 and 260,000 daily vacancies, and between 120,000 and 130,000 are in Phnom Penh capital.
