Lightning Kills 65 in First Five Months

During the first five months of this year, there were 92 cases of lightning, claiming 65 lives, according to local media report.

The source cited Spokesperson of the National Committee for Disaster Management (NCDM) H.E. Keo Vy sharing the update, adding that 46 others have been injured and 69 cattle have been killed by the incident.

Meanwhile, 107 cases of wind gusts were recorded, destroying totally 472 houses, and damaging partly 1,807 others and 17 schools as well as 9 other buildings.

The spokesperson encouraged the public to pay extra attention in order to mitigate the disaster risks.
