More Filming Human Resource Needed to Bring Sector to New Level

Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts has urged for filming human resource development to bring Cambodian film industry to the next level.

The remarks were made by the ministry's Secretary of State H.E. Som Sokun when closing the 7th Chaktomuk Short Film Festival 2018 here in Phnom Penh recently.

The secretary of state also expressed his appreciation of initiatives of Cambodian film producers who have worked hard to improve the quality of their outputs from year to year.

The capacity building, continued the secretary of state, will not only contribute to further promoting film production to meet the market demand, but also raise its competitiveness in international markets.

There were 301 short films submitted for this year's festival by both domestic and international producers, and 25 have been identified as the best by a recognised committee for the event.
