New UN Resident Coordinator Pays Courtesy Call on DPM Samdech Sar Kheng

Newly appointed Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and United Nations Resident Coordinator Ms. Pauline Tamesis paid here yesterday afternoon a courtesy call on Samdech Kralahom Sar Kheng, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.

The new UN resident coordinator spoke highly of Cambodia for its achievements of the millennium development goals, as well as rapid economic growth for the past years.

The United Nations, she underlined, is ready to contribute to Cambodia's endeavour to become an upper middle-income country and to achieve its national development strategic goals by 2030.

Samdech Kralahom Sar Kheng congratulated Ms. Pauline Tamesis for her new role, and appreciated her commitment to contribute to Cambodia's development.

He highlighted the United Nations' assistance to Cambodia so far in various sectors, including the support for subnational administrative reform and census works.

The Royal Government of Cambodia looks forward to further cooperation with the United Nations, he added.
