Road Portion from Kampong Cham to Siem Reap Put Into Official Use

The portion of National Road No. 6 from Thnal Keng in Kampong Cham province to Angkrong in Siem Reap province was inaugurated this morning.

The inauguration ceremony took place in Stung Sen city, Kampong Thom province under the presidency of Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen.

Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Xiong Bo was also present on the occasion.

The over-248-kilometre-long road portion crosses three provinces � Kampong Cham, Kampong Thom and Siem Reap. The reconstruction project was divided into three stages: Thnal Keng-Skun, Skun-Stung Sen, and Stung Sen-Angkrong of 28,73, 102,90, and 116,90 kilometres long, respectively.

The reconstruction, lasting from May 2013 to July 2017, cost some US$255 million funded by China's concessional loan (US$248,8 million) and the Royal Government of Cambodia's budget.
