Thailand Praises Cambodia on Successful General Elections

Thai Prime Minister H.E. Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha has sent a congratulatory message to Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, after the ruling Cambodian People's Party won a landslide victory in the National Election on July 29, 2018.

On behalf of the Government and the people of the Kingdom of Thailand, I have the honour to extend my warmest congratulations to Your Excellency and the Cambodian People's Party for yet another landslide victory in the general elections. I am confident that, under Your Excellency's able leadership and renewed mandate, Cambodia will continue to prosper in the years ahead. I also wish to congratulate Your Excellency and the Cambodian authorities concerned for successfully holding the said general elections, the Thai Premier wrote in his recent message.

Thailand, as an immediate neighbour, reaffirms our commitment to further strengthening the longstanding ties of friendship and close cooperation with Cambodia for the mutual benefits of our two peoples, he stressed.

Cambodia has so far received many congratulatory messages from the Philippines, Laos, Vietnam, China, European Council on Tourism and Trade, and so on, after the successful organisation of the 6th National Election with nearly 83 percent or 6,946,164 voter turnout across the country.
